- Is a high dividend yield always good?
- No. Yields above ~7% in US large-caps usually flag stress: a falling stock price elevates yield mechanically before management cuts the dividend. Always check the payout ratio and free-cash-flow coverage.
- Should I reinvest dividends?
- For long-term tax-advantaged accounts, yes — reinvestment is the compounding engine for total return. In taxable accounts, weigh tax drag against rebalancing benefits.
